THE CRAFTYMASTER is 15lb lower on turf after a wide-margin success at Wolverhampton at the end of last month which was followed by a runner-up effort at the same venue when dropped in trip. The six-year-old hadn't disgraced himself prior to those efforts when fifth at Bath and is expected to come out on top. Lucky Sevens is a potential improver up in trip after winning over hurdles at Stratford where he got the better of the reopposing Tiny Riot, who may have more to offer back on the level.
LUCKY SEVENS arrives in excellent form having won on the Flat at Brighton before following up over hurdles at Stratford. While yet to try this longer trip in this sphere, he's proven he stays the distance over obstacles, handles the ground and can go well again back here. The Craftymaster has been in good form on the all-weather, including a wide-margin success at Wolverhampton two starts ago, and remains of interest for tony Carroll if able to transfer that improvement to turf, where he's winless in eight starts. Tiny Riot has shown ability over hurdles for top connections and returns to the Flat over a trip that should suit, so he is another who could have a say.
