Verdict

Although Melbourne Cup second GOODIE TWO SHOES would arguably prefer further, she is nicely treated at these weights. A Group 3 winner at Fairyhouse last July, the Joseph O'Brien-trained mare will probably have a repeat bid in Australia as her main target, but she shouldn't be far away if running to her best. Although Chally Chute would also enjoy a stiffer test of stamina, the Ross O'Sullivan-trained eight-year-old would hold leading claims if the forecast rain arrives. Happy Pharoah, who ran a career best at Leopardstown recently, is another who should have every chance.

The Joseph O'Brien-trained GOODIE TWO SHOES brings by far the strongest form on offer having run a massive race when runner-up in the Melbourne Cup last time, and with the yard having won this race last year, she looks a very solid standard-setter back in calmer waters. Chally Chute arrives on the back of a dominant Group 3 success at the Curragh and has to be respected again despite this slight drop in trip, while Happy Pharoah ran right up to his best when narrowly denied in the Levmoss Stakes and remains firmly in the mix at this level.
