This race was part of an all-juvenile card where Aidan O’Brien won six of the seven races, the winner looking the best prospect on the day as he built on a maiden win here in August. The pace was strong as the first two came from behind.
WALL STREET was returning from 72 days off the track, but the form of his maiden win had worked out particularly well and he had shaped much the best despite only winning by half a length. He was settled off a decent place and travelled well into the straight before switching for a run, running green in the finish but not asked for everything to win by a comfortable half-length. He rates an excellent prospect for middle distance races next year for all his yard also has Darkness Falls.
ZARAK PASHA was the highest rated runner in the field on 99, and he pulled a long way clear with the winner to give the form a solid look. This was a step up on his run in the Golden Fleece, the return to a slower surface suiting.
LEADLIGHT travelled nicely near the lead and appeared stretched by the trip but should continue to be vulnerable in races like this.
WUNDERSCHON was well-backed through the day but never threatened, always around the same position. She may prefer slower ground.
ALBANY COUNTY made the running but weakened out of things quickly in the straight.
ARIZONA RAIDER found both this trip and grade beyond him.
