Verdict

SRON NA CAISE was only headed well inside the final furlong when a narrow runner-up to the higher-rated and well-backed favourite Wild Sapphire in a maiden over a mile at Killarney in July. This drop in trip should be in his favour and he must have a chance against Kakori, who also comes back in distance after placed efforts in optional claiming races at Limerick and Roscommon. Therewillbeglory finished down the field in a hot handicap at the Curragh on Irish Derby weekend, but is a player based on her more promising third in a strong maiden at Dundalk prior.

Watch out for: Kakori (8)

Most of these want longer trips, including Kakori, who has obvious form claims, and Joe Cool, a hurdles winner who is proven up to 13f on the Flat. It might be best to concentrate on two with a little more proven speed, though, namely SRON NA CAISE, who was back to form tried in a visor over 8f last time, and Hugo's Girl, who is exposed but is proven over this sort of trip. The selection is just favoured on account of the fact he's lightly raced and shapes as though the drop to 6f may suit.
