Verdict

CAROLINA JETSTREAM has kept good company recently and can take advantage of her sights being lowered. All of her four wins have come on the all-weather and thus any softening of the ground would be a concern, but she finished a solid runner-up at Group 2 level at the Curragh on good ground in May. She wasn't beat far at Royal Ascot in June and now drops markedly in grade following her Pretty Polly run. Jagged Edge and Hardy Warrior, who runs in a first-time tongue-tie, are closed matched on slightly revised terms following their Galway meeting, while a mile will stretch East Hampton's stamina.

EAST HAMPTON can bounce back from a below-par effort in the Group 2 Minstrel Stakes, where the fast ground appeared to be against him. He had previously finished second by one and a half lengths in the Listed Gladness Stakes at the Curragh and is much better suited by easier conditions, so this drop in grade gives him a good opportunity to return to winning ways. Carolina Jetstream found Group 1 company beyond her when well beaten in the Pretty Polly Stakes but has useful form at black-type level and can bounce back in calmer waters. Hardy Warrior returned to form when fourth at Galway and is another classy performer in a short career, while the return to a mile and first-time tongue-tie could help bring about further improvement for Joseph O'Brien.
