Magic Day won here over C&D in April last year off 2lb lower, and after disappointing over fences, she returned to hurdles with a good second here last month. She can go well once more but this race usually goes to a younger contender. PARKGARVE reacted positively to blinkers when winning by 12 lengths at Downpatrick and although upped 9lb for that, if the headgear works again he could well make all the running. Bhean Saibhre, Pride Of Place, and Mysilverriverfeale also make the shortlist.
An open race where a number of the field can be given chances. MALIKANNA is selected at potentially generous odds as she has had valid excuses on her last couple of starts and looks on a generous mark based on her spring runner up effort. She has proven herself versatile ground wise while suggesting this drop back in trip will suit and notably she is Mark Walsh's only ride on the card. Diamond Tipp posted her best effort since the autumn when runner up to a progressive rival last time and she looks well handicapped off an unchanged mark. With Jack Kennedy retaining the ride and cheekpieces applied she looks an obvious danger along with the steadily improving Emesteraye. That rival placed at Galway recently and has looked as if this step up in trip would be of benefit for some time.
