Expert View Verdict

Verdict

Birthday Angel posted a close-up second on his seasonal debut at Lingfield in June and a similar performance on the back of another break is likely to see him involved. That said, the combination of a 3lb higher mark and wide stall are grounds to take him on, with MINERALITY getting the vote. The three-year-old arrives on the back of a good third at Lingfield and the application of blinkers for the first time from a plum draw could prove just the ticket. Uzincso is a feasible alternative.

Watch out for: Birthday Angel (1)

Last year's winner Uzincso might be 10 now but he remains competitively weighted and should again go well, while the 6yo Birthday Angel is back from 95 days off having run well when returning to Flat over 10f on soft at Lingfield in the summer. The selection, though, is MINERALITY, who is coming off an improved third over 10f at Lingfield when tried in cheekpieces. He still looked to race a little lazily then and blinkers are now tried. They could help him find enough improvement to get off the mark.
