Verdict

SORRENGAIL got off the mark at Ascot on her second attempt before pulling too hard when beaten less than a length at Newbury. The application of a hood is likely to calm her down and the extra furlong is likely to bring about improvement based on her pedigree. Al Samsama made a winning debut at the Berkshire venue in July and is likely to step forward for going up in trip, while China In Your Hand is capable of bouncing back after a below-par effort in the Sweet Solera at Newmarket.

Watch out for: Al Samsama (1)

Al Samsama looks promising judging by the manner of her Newbury debut success, while Ralph Beckett's Spirit Tango scored with something to spare on the second attempt at Kempton. Both are open to further improvement now stepping up in trip to 7f, but the same can be said for Godolphin's SORRENGAIL, who still looked green when winning on her second start at Ascot and then failed to settle at Newbury. She's very much bred for today's extra furlong and the first-time hood should enable her to relax. She's taken to prove too strong. The Can Can Queen could go well at bigger odds with her having had excuses the last twice.
