Verdict

LIVEINTHELIGHT won on handicap debut here on soft ground before handling much faster conditions when going down by a neck at Nottingham. The extra couple of furlongs appear likely to yield further progression and she is expected to confirm form with Grand Pier, who produced a career-best effort behind the selection here and is likely to go close once again. Meet Me In Meraki completes the shortlist.

This can be dominated by those at the bottom of the weights. Grand Pier returned to form when runner up over 10f here last time and remains well treated on his novice form so is respected. However he has proven inconsistent and is yet to demonstrate his ability on a quicker surface. Course winner LIVEINTHELIGHT is marginally preferred having shown she handles good to firm last time. She's gone up another 2lb but still looks ahead of her mark and should have more to offer over this longer trip. Meet Me In Meraki hinted at a revival last time and should also play a part if building on that.
