Having made a successful stable debut at Kempton earlier this month, there is likely more to come from Crooked Path. Although James Owen's charge isn't taken lightly reverting to turf, the down-in-class DIVINE KNIGHT edges the vote. The five-year-old appeared to do too much too early when weakening into fifth at Newmarket and a reproduction of his previous efforts in defeat this season may prove sufficient. Unexposed Haydock winner Edward Sexton is a feasible alternative.
Gordon Grey is obviously interesting having won this last year, being very well handicapped on that form and with Patrick Mullins booked. He ran really poorly here last time though, had been in great heart when taking the race in 2025 and looks very risky. Crooked Path is also worthy of note with a jockey that frequently wins the race. In a very competitive and unpredictable race preference is for SEEKING CHARLES. He is still a maiden but went oh so close last time and seems quite nicely weighted. Divine Knight should also go well. He's in solid form and goes well with some give. The ultra-consistent Yaa Min though must be the biggest danger. He is switching back from all-weather but is just as good on turf and you literally can set your watch by him.
