Expert Analysis
Quite a weak contest for a G2, and the winner, admirable though she is, posted the lowest winning rating in recent times. She ensured it was run at a strong pace, and her 23.87s on borderline “good” and “good to soft”, and into a headwind, results in a 98.5% finishing speed.
REVIVAL POWER (105 here and previously) is much improved of late, her York listed win upgraded after this also, and is now a useful and seriously fast sprinter, making just about all here at a strong pace, ridden approaching the final 1f and finding plenty, never looking like being caught. She would not be sure to be as effective at 6f.KANSAS (102 here and previously) ran well while seeming to find 5f sharp enough at this level, in mid-field, pushed along at halfway and staying on, up for second in the final 1f. He’s worth another try at 6f.
DICKENSIAN (101 here, 100 previously) ran at least as well as he ever has (though his 3rd to Revival Power at York looks better now than it did) and has plenty of speed, quite free in mid-field even with the pace strong then improving approaching the final 1f, edging right and one paced late on
HAVANA HURRICANE (100 here, 102 previously) ran creditably but was taken off his feet for a long way following a slow start, eventually closing well but too late. While probably a sprinter, he may prove better at 6f than 5f overall.
EXCLAMATION (95 here, 92 previously) was back to his best but will not have done his mark any good with this useful effort.
MISSION CENTRAL (94 here, 104 previously) had looked speedy at 6f but much less so back at the minimum trip in this company.
PALMEIRA (88 here, 93 previously)
ARGENTINE TANGO (84+ here, 95 previously) had been outpaced just behind the leaders but was keeping on when hampered.
LADY IMAN (80 here, 105 previously) travelled well before wandering/finding nothing, found to have bled. It may be that we have seen the best of her already.
KILLAVIA (61 here, 91 previously)
