Verdict

Having scored on two of his last three outings, SUPER HIT ticks plenty of the right boxes. A 3lb nudge up in the ratings for the five-year-old's latest success at Windsor is effectively negated by Christian Howarth's claim and this could prove a suitable opportunity for him to follow up. Most of the other rivals appear to be in the assessor's grip at present, with recent course fourth Mariner rating as the biggest threat, ahead of reopposing sixth Whiskey Pete.

SUPER HIT arrives in form having won 2 of his last 3 and the first of those victories has been franked. His 3lb rise is offset by his jockey's claim and he is picked to defeat Mariner who has been running back into form recently. That rival's latest run is worth marking up as he met trouble and he should appreciate the step back up in trip. Cosmos Raj can chase the pair home off a much reduced mark.
