The near side was favoured during the previous day, and it was the same here as Soul Love used her draw in the highest stall to make all up the rail.
SOUL LOVE was running on ground much slower than she previously encountered but relished it, always in control making the running and was only closed down late. A win on testing ground opens up options for her, with a supplementary entry for the British Champions Sprint being considered.
BIG GOSSEY came back to form, finishing runner-up in this race for the third time, and shaping as if he would prefer seven furlongs these days. Having been drawn in stall one, he was caught more off the rail than the winner but kept on well under pressure.
POWER BLUE has an excellent record at the track but was in trouble before halfway, either finding the ground too slow or the trip too sharp (he had raced over further throughout 2026).
ROYAL BAY CEN was a wide-margin winner of a Listed race at Cork in May on heavy ground, but failed to approach that form here returning from a break. She may have needed the run, but her head carriage was a little awkward.
BRUSSELS continues to disappoint.
EAST HAMPTON has a good record on testing ground but struggled to go the pace from an early stage.
TANGO FLARE was never involved.
