Expert Analysis
There was a fair bit of form to go on here, and it cannot be regarded as a good renewal of this curtain-raiser to the jumps season “proper”, though the first two did at least show form bordering on useful by novice standards. The pace was on the steady side (all remaining runners still well-grouped entering the final bend), the on-screen splits giving a race sectional of 54.15s for the final 4f (108.5% finishing speed).
FLYING FORTUNE (h133 here, 118 previously) was well backed and ran her best race yet by some way, held up in touch and settling well before running on to lead between the last 2, soon on top and merely nudged out near the end, completing a 4-timer in the process. She’s likely to find things a fair bit tougher hereafter but does have a good attitude as well as a bit of a turn of foot.
INTENSE APPROACH (h131 here, 127 previously) was soon dictating, increasing the pace 3 out but headed between the last 2 and no extra. He’s proving reliable in half-decent novice company.
VINCENZO (h127 here and previously) returned to the best of his previous form while looking something of a stayer, settling better before halfway then outpaced before 3 out, staying on again late.
RYAN’S ROCKET (h108 here, 122 previously) raced too freely and nothing to give from 2 out.
HANDLETHEKETTLE (h100 here, 118 previously) showed up for a long way, despite a couple of sloppy jumps, only to find little from 2 out.
BULLETS HILL (h0 here, 109 previously)
JUVENTUS DE BRION (h0 here, 117 previously)
