Expert Analysis

Reporter: Simon Rowlands

A race that has nosedived by G2 standards, reflecting the fall-off in French 2yo form in recent times, and it went abroad for the 9th time in the last 10 years, with the only 2 home representatives filling the last 2 places. It was run at a good pace (23.17s final 400m for 102.9% finishing speed for winner), but the overall time was a poor one relatively and there is a chance the form is not even as good as ratings in the low-100s for the principals would have it.

GREEN SENSE (101 here and previously) seemed much more at home back on an easy surface (though it was close to good on this straight course, while softer on the round one) and took a weak G2 gamely, slowly into her stride and held up in touch before making headway 400m out, ridden to lead with 250m to go and all out. She is sprint bred but gives the impression she will get 7f/1400m.

SUPER SOLDIER (103 here, 98 previously) ran his best race and presumably blew a BHA mark of just 92 in the process, tracking and short of room a couple of times then switched and running on. He had gone off at 80/1 when down the back in the Coventry the time before.

TADEJ (102 here, 100 previously) ran well with no excuses, pushed along to lead and under pressure before most, headed 250m out and keeping on.

IMPERIAL ME CEN (93 here, 97 previously)

MOOJEED (89 here, 100 previously) is one of the best French-trained 2yos (had Imperial Me Cen back in 3rd when winning a G3 here in June), but that is not saying a lot and he dropped away/was eased late on.
