Verdict

Most of these arrive with something to prove so it might be worth taking a chance on PORTER'S SONG. His best effort to date came on his final start for Ed Bethell at Leicester, but he took a backward step on his stable debut at Pontefract. However, he steps up a couple of furlongs in trip and may still be capable of a bit better having made just five career appearances. Talking In Kode shares a similar profile and is one of the likelier dangers, while La Trinite appeals most of the remainder.

LA TRINITE probably failed to fully see out two miles at Lingfield last time but had previously gone close over this sort of trip at Brighton when runner-up at the coastal track two starts ago, making this return to 1m4f look a positive. Head Girl is easy enough to forgive after a disappointing run at Epsom and is capable of bouncing back to her earlier form that saw her finish close third at Lingfield prior. Talking In Kode has started to shape encouragingly since stepping up in trip to middle distances and, with first-time visor applied and this step up to 1m4f offering further scope for improvement, is an interesting contender for the in-form Ed Bethell.
