Verdict

Mjchael Dods boasts a strong hand with his pair Brain Freeze and Sparkling Wine but even so, OASIS COVER could be too strong. Ed Bethell's filly has shown real promise on both of her starts on the grass, including when keeping on into second at Redcar last time. The minimum trip might not be ideal for her, but this stiff finish ought to highlight her staying qualities.

SPARKLING WINE can build on a promising handicap debut. She gets to race off the same basement mark as when runner up that day and a repeat may be enough to defeat the inconsistent Jack Rabbit Slims. That rival has shown his best form over this C&D on fast ground and boasts an experience edge on his rivals. Oasis Cover ran well in a stronger contest last time and will have no issue with the drop back in trip so also rates a danger.
