Expert View:
Yard won this last year; pulled up in a handicap chase at Uttoxeter latest; returning from a break; effective 2m4f-3m, needs sound surface; well treated on chase form, not seen in this sphere for a while.
Star rating: 3
Form Snapshot: Has won four hurdle races and nine chases from 2m to 3m 2f on ground varying from good to firm to soft. Pulled up 2 out when 22-1 at Uttoxeter over 3m (good) in a chase won by Imperial Alex in June on his latest outing.
Emma Lavelle (11 February 2025): "He has had a break during the winter. He ran in the Charlie Hall, but I have never been convinced that he truly stays three miles. Based on that, we have made an entry for him in the Ryanair. I think he is a horse that without a load of runners, it gives him a chance, rather than giving lumps of weight away in handicaps, as he’s not overbig. Hopefully he will pick up the pieces and win a bit of prizemoney - that is what we are going to try to do. He has been a brilliant horse over the years, winning 12 races and picking up loads of prizemoney. Nice-ish ground would be ideal for him."
Emma Lavelle (13 February 2023): "He won the Rising Stars at Wincanton in November and has had a break since and is going to be more a spring horse. He won five through the summer which culminated in him winning the Rising Stars - he has had a mid-season break and is now back cantering to get ready for some of the decent two and a half mile handicaps in the spring and summer. We might on the back of how he’s been doing so well this year look at the two-and-a-half-mile novice at Aintree when it comes along."
Emma Lavelle (26 November 2021): "We would have expected soft ground by now and he is having a bit of a holiday. He will come back in springtime and I would say he would have one more run over hurdles and depending on how he schools at home I would say there is a fair chance he will jump a fence and we will go novice chasing with him."
Emma Lavelle (18 December 2020): "He had a very good season last season but when he fell in the Sidney Banks at Huntingdon he just lost his confidence a little bit. We play around with him tripwise and how to ride him at the start of the season and it didn't work. His last run at Newbury we made the running with him and he didn't see out the two and a half mile trip. He wants to be bounced out over two miles on slightly better ground and the plan is to go to Kempton for a 0-140 over the Christmas period."
