Stable Tour Quotes
Joseph O'Brien (10 June 2022): "He’s been a marvellous horse for us, winning three Group/Grade 1 races on three different continents. We came away a little bit disappointed that he was beaten in the Tattersalls Gold Cup at the Curragh last time, but he came from further back than the two that beat him and he hit the line hard, so we were proud of his effort. The plan is to run him in the Prince of Wales’s Stakes. His work has been very good since then and he’ll enjoy what promises to be firmer ground than he got at the Curragh. It looks like it could cut up into a small field, but he is tactically versatile and shouldn’t be inconvenienced whatever way it pans out. We’re very excited to see him run again."
Joseph O'Brien (30 March 2022): "He had a brilliant season last year. To win a Cox Plate after all he had to go through to get there was unbelievable and the stewards’ inquiry made it even more dramatic. He showed through all of that just how tough he is both physically and mentally, as a lot of horses wouldn’t have been able to produce a career-best effort at the highest level after all that. We are delighted to have him back for another year and are very happy with how he wintered. He looks in particularly good shape. We considered the Dubai Turf for him, but decided to give it a miss. He’ll start back in either the Mooresbridge Stakes at the Curragh or the Prix Ganay at ParisLongchamp which are both in early-May. The Tattersalls Gold Cup at the Curragh three weeks later will be his next step after that. We feel a mile-and-a-quarter is a good trip for him, but I’d say he’d be well able to compete in Group 1s at a mile too. We are really looking forward to him."
Joseph O'Brien (25 March 2021): "He progressed throughout last season and has come back in looking really well. We’ll look to start him off in a Guineas trial and I could see him potentially getting a mile-and-a-quarter in due course. He won’t want testing ground, but everything else should be fine for him."
