Stable Tour Quotes
Joe Tizzard (17 November 2025): "He ran ok in the Haldon Gold Cup, and I think he has come on a bit. They went like the clappers, and he will probably go to Ascot on Saturday and change the tactics. We might just let him bounce out."
Best of the Rest in Britain (26 February 2025): "He is still in the Queen Mother, and he won’t run in the Ryanair. He is also in the Grand Annual and he will probably run in that race. We have had a dab at the Grade 1s, and he just come up a bit short on ratings. He is ground dependent and his best performance this season was when bouncing off the ground in the Haldon Gold Cup. If the heavens open, then he won’t run as there are plenty of options for him through the spring. (Joe Tizzard)"
Joe Tizzard (03 December 2024): "He is potentially my best horse at the moment and he improved through last season with a fence and then came out and won the Haldon Gold Cup in really good style. I was chuffed to bits with that run - I have him in the Tingle Creek at the weekend, but he is only rated 154 so he is still 16lb wrong with the likes of Jonbon. I am also going to enter him at Kelso on Sunday for a two-mile handicap and I will just see what pans out and see what’s turning out. I just think I could go and win another nice handicap and then take them on. He has always been a fantastic looking horse, and we always felt he was a good horse, and we have taken our time. Now is the time for him and he loves decent ground. He has won on all sorts of ground but to get the best out of him he loves to bounce off decent ground."
Joe Tizzard (26 November 2023): "He is a gorgeous chap and he was so unlucky not to win a Grade 2 at Cheltenham last weekend. The handicapper thought that was a serious performance and put him up 11lb. I see no reason not to run him in the Henry VIII and he has come out of the Cheltenham race fine. He jumped brilliantly and we will have a go at the Henry VIII."
Joe Tizzard (12 October 2022): "He is a lovely horse, and I don’t think he actually trained on for the second half of last season. I think he was most exciting before Christmas then it didn’t happen. I have him entered on Saturday at Newton Abbot but I’m not sure there is any rush with him. I think he could be one of my top novice chasers this year."
Colin Tizzard (02 March 2022): "He was a bit disappointing in the Betfair Hurdlebut it blew his mind a little bit. He was cantering around at the start and ran the whole race on one breath. I want to get the big day experiences into him, and I want to take him to Cheltenham and Aintree so that he learns for next year and that he is aware of the situation and gets used to the crowd. He is a gorgeous looking horse, and he has some cracking form from his first three runs. We can draw a line through his Betfair run. I’m not expecting him to win the Supreme, but I think that he is above average, and I think he can finish in the first half a dozen. I just want to get that experience into him, so he knows going forward what it is all about. This won’t do him any harm at all running in this big competitive race. I think he has got a lot of talent and I think he will be a better chaser next season. You can forgive everything one bad run. He is pretty settled at home. He has been good at small tracks like Exeter and Taunton, and in the five-runner race at Cheltenham but he went to the Betfair but he just got himself a little bit excited and he ran with the choke out. He has got to learn to save a bit and race basically. He is a talented young horse who we think a lot of. He looked like he was going to win everywhere that day at Cheltenham and he just got chinned on the line. He has just got to make sure he doesn’t over race. In a Supreme he will be able to settle in and get covered up. It will give him a real nice education. Anything he achieves he will be a bonus. He is fast enough for two miles, but we have run him over two and a half as we needed to get him qualified for the Betfair Hurdle but for now he is quick enough for two."
