Stable Tour Quotes
Joe Tizzard (17 November 2025): "He has been an absolute stalwart for the yard. He always turns up well when fresh and two mile and five around Cheltenham is his perfect trip. He jumped magnificently in front on Friday, and it was great so see him gain a well-deserved win. We would be looking at the Veterans’ Final for him now."
Joe Tizzard (03 December 2024): "He has been a lovely horse for us over the years. He is going to go to Cheltenham in a Veterans’ race this month. He finished second at Warwick the other day and we will just try and find those Veterans’ races for him. I think he could nearly win at Cheltenham in a fortnight’s time."
Joe Tizzard (26 November 2023): "He has been brilliant over the year and ran a blinder on his comeback at Ascot which would be the wrong way round for him. He is in the Coral Gold Cup and he will love the drying ground at Newbury this week. He is an older horse and you often get a younger horse that is coming through but the handicapper has given him a chance and he seems in really good nick. I think he will run a really good race. "
Joe Tizzard (12 October 2022): "He had a brilliant year, and he won the Haldon Gold Cup and then went onto win the Denman Chase. I will probably take him up to Wetherby for the Charlie Hall to start his season and on the back of there we will decide whether we run in the Betfair Chase or the King George. We are picking and choosing our races in the right grade now and I am sure he will get his head in front. He has summered really well and worked fantastic on Tuesday morning. If he was to improve a little more, he could even be a Gold Cup horse."
Colin Tizzard (04 April 2022): "Eldorado Allen runs in the Betfair Bowl. He ran well in the Ryanair, and we rode him positively. I think good ground or good to soft ground will be ideal. He was impressive in the Denman and three miles seems to suit him that day. He seems to have to come out of Cheltenham well and I would give him a live each way chance. He was very good in the Denman and racing on a similar track could suit him well and three mile around there could well be perfect for him."
Colin Tizzard (02 March 2022): "We are going to run him in the Ryanair Chase. There was talk about sticking him in the Gold Cup after he won the Denman, but it is £30,000. I reckon if it was £10,000, they might have done it. I’m not sure he is an out and out stayer. We’ve all had a chat, dad, me, Jon Romans and Terry Warner and for now I think he is a Ryanair horse. There is a big difference between just under three miles on good ground at Newbury to three miles two in a Gold Cup. I think he would travel in a Gold Cup, but he could have a crack at that next year. I think we can go Ryanair then maybe the Betfair Bowl at Aintree and having him wound up for a Charlie Hall next season. It has opened up another window. We started off winning the Haldon Gold Cup over two and a quarter. The handicapper put him up 11lbs for winning the Denman which I thought was ridiculous, but they obviously rate the form. We ran him in it as it might be too quicker ground for Royale Pagaille and we might be able to do him for toe and Clan Des Obeaux wasn’t guaranteed to run his race but the handicapper took it as bare form. He has always been a nice horse. I think he goes into the Ryanair with a nice chance. He doesn’t mind a bit of decent ground. Allaho will take a hell of a lot of beating but you shouldn’t be afraid of one horse. I’m not saying we can beat him but I’d rather him in a Ryanair at this stage than over three miles two in a Gold Cup. "
Colin Tizzard (14 October 2021): "He was a real good second in the Arkle last year and is a Grade 2 winning novice and he is in and well. He will start off in the Haldon Gold Cup - he is off 151 and it is a limited handicap over two and a quarter. I think it is a lovely race to start him in. We were looking forward to stepping up to two and a half miles last year, but we took him to Aintree and he just flopped completely but he was showing the effects of the season. He is a horse we think can step up in trip and the Haldon Gold Cup is a great starting place."
Colin Tizzard (01 March 2021): "He has four entries and is a Grade 2 winner around Cheltenham already this year over two miles. I think we will end up going for the Grand Annual with him - Shishkin beat him fair and square at Doncaster in a very impressive time - I think would we rather go in a handicap and be really competitive than, bar accidents, finish third or fourth in an Arkle. A fast-run two miles should play to his strengths and as long as his inexperience doesn't catch him out, he should be competitive off his mark."
Colin Tizzard (08 October 2020): "I think he is one of our nicest novice chasers this year. He bolted up in his novices’ hurdle at Sandown a couple of years ago then went to Aintree and had a freak accident and got knocked over and injured himself. He ran well first time out last year and has come back looking magnificent and he runs at Newton Abbot on Sunday. He will take all the beating and could be a slightly forgotten horse this year."
Colin Tizzard (02 March 2020): "I think we are going to go to the County Hurdle with him. He probably didn’t run his best race at Sandown last time out. His first race at Sandown was a real strong run and he just got tired as he has been off the track for some time. We thought we would go back and have a crack at the Contenders Hurdle. He didn’t run his best race that day. He travelled into it and didn’t see it out. He is off a workable mark. I think a fast-run two in the County Hurdle will suit him well."
