Willie Mullins (08 October 2025): "He had a difficult season between setbacks and falls. Going back over hurdles has crossed our minds, but I suspect we’ll stay chasing. I wasn’t happy with him when he came back in from grass, he didn’t do as well as the other horses, so I set his training schedule back by six weeks and that means he won’t run before Christmas."

Willie Mullins (06 February 2025): "It was disappointing that he came down the other day. He’s in the Champion Chase and the Ryanair Chase and my feeling is that he should go up in trip for the Ryanair. That’s where I’ll be aiming for, and I’ll see if Simon and Isaac agree with that. He might go for the Red Mills Chase next."

Willie Mullins (23 January 2025): "El Fabiolo did a nice bit of work yesterday, but he hasn't been himself to my satisfaction this season. He's a little more difficult to train, but I hope to get a run into him and we'll see where we are at in the last quarter of the season. We've a few festivals to go to yet."

Willie Mullins (28 November 2024): "He missed a bit of time. He’s back riding out and is doing everything right, but we might not get to see him until the Dublin Racing Festival. I’d say we’d have to go to the Dublin Chase. The Queen Mother Champion Chase is an obvious option, but I wouldn’t like to rule out the Ryanair Chase as we have a few options for the Champion Chase. His jumping let him down at Sandown, so I thought he might be better off that that little bit slower over a longer trip, but we’ll split them up as best we can if they all stay sound."

Willie Mullins (17 April 2024): "He’s entered in the William Hill Champion Chase at Punchestown, but at this stage it looks like we’ll aim him at the Celebration Chase at Sandown. He wasn’t quite right when he came back from Cheltenham, so we just gave him a little break to let him find his feet again. He’s been bucking and kicking for the last few mornings, so he looks back to himself. He’s fit as a flea, so he’ll just need a couple of bits of work to put him bang on."

Willie Mullins (25 October 2023): "He will slot in for Energumene, who unfortunately is out for the season. I think we’ll start him off in the Hilly Way Chase at Cork and plan a route from there until Cheltenham."

Willie Mullins (14 February 2023): "I've always been keen on El Fabiolo. If you go back to the second run of his life when he ran Jonbon to a neck at Aintree - I'm thinking no matter what happens, he's right up there. It just depends on which horse has improved most over the winter, and our fellow seems to have come on a huge amount. The Irish Arkle looked so hot, so deep, and for him to come out and produce a performance like that was huge."

Willie Mullins (26 October 2022): "He looks a real Arkle type. You’d have to consider him one of the best potential novice chasers that we have. We’ll get him started wherever we can, then look at Leopardstown at Christmas, the Dublin Racing Festival and onto Cheltenham."

Willie Mullins (24 February 2022): "El Fabiolo was very impressive at Tramore, which is our trial track for Cheltenham! I think the form has worked out well too. He got a little cut prior to the Dublin Racing Festival, so we withdrew him. I think his form stacks up and he could run at Cheltenham. You’d probably automatically say he’s a Supreme Novices' horse, but maybe we could change and ride him differently in the Ballymore. He’s got plenty of speed. If Paul is happy that he can settle him, that will be the key, then we could go for the Ballymore, but we’ll see."
