Stable Tour Quotes
Henry de Bromhead (24 October 2025): "He’s in great form. We aren’t in a rush with him and will aim to get him back on the track around Christmas time. He has options at Ascot, Leopardstown and Cheltenham, so we’ll pick our spot closer to the time. He’s getting older, so we’ll pick our spots race to race with him, but if all goes well, I’d imagine it will be one run and then back to the Stayers’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival."
Henry de Bromhead (23 October 2024): "Bob is in great form and is on track to make his return in the Lismullen Hurdle at Navan on November 16th. We’ll see how he goes, but I wouldn’t rule out trying three miles with him again later in the season. He’s always been a very good horse, and it was great to see him back being very competitive in Grade 1 company last season."
Henry de Bromhead (05 March 2024): "We won’t be supplementing him for the Champion Hurdle, and he’s being aimed at the Aintree Hurdle."
Henry de Bromhead (08 November 2023): "Bob seems to be in great form. He just wasn’t quite himself last season and we decided to pull stumps with him after his last start in January, give him a long break and look to start back from scratch this season. The intention is to go back over fences with him and we are looking at a conditions chase at Thurles at the end of November as his starting point. Hopefully, we can get him back to where he was a couple of seasons ago."
Henry de Bromhead (26 October 2022): "Bob is in great form and worked really well the other day. We’ve decided to send him back over hurdles and his schooling over them has really been pleasing us. We have the Lismullen Hurdle at Navan pencilled in for his comeback. Last season obviously ended on a disappointing note for him, but we still retain the faith in him and hope that he can get back to his best this season."
Henry de Bromhead (22 February 2022): "He took a bit more schooling over fences than ours usually need at first, but he’s improved and improved. On his chasing debut he jumped fine and on his second start over fences I thought he jumped really well. We couldn’t be happier with him, and he seems in great form. I’d imagine the Turners Novices’ Chase is where he’ll run. I wouldn’t like to say that it’s certain he’ll run there just yet, but it’s highly likely and it’s just a case of us sitting down together and making that decision. I don’t think ground is a huge issue for him either way. Sure, wouldn’t it be great for racing if he was to meet Galopin Des Champs and L’Homme Presse? That’s what it’s all about, the best meeting the best and seeing which one comes out on top."
Henry de Bromhead (12 October 2021): "He’s in great nick and has summered really well. The plan is to go novice chasing with him this season and we’ll look to start him back in a maiden chase around mid-November. I’d say we are probably likely to stay around mid-range trips with him, but we’ll play it by ear based on how his runs pan out as the season progresses. He had a great time of it last season and looks really exciting, so we are hoping he transitions well to fences and has another good season."
Henry de Bromhead (21 April 2021): "He’s pretty impressive! He was brilliant at Cheltenham and came back from there in great form. The intention is to run him in the Alanna Homes Champion Novice Hurdle at Punchestown. We always get a bit nervous coming towards the end of a long season with all our horses, but he was on the beach this morning and seems really well, so hopefully we’ll see more of the same from him at Punchestown."
Henry de Bromhead (09 March 2021): "We’re very happy with him. He worked really well the other day and seems really well. He was impressive at Naas and that form looks to give him a good chance in the Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle. All of his form is on softer ground, but he’s a good-moving horse and I think he’d handle better ground."
Henry de Bromhead (09 October 2020): "He’s a lovely horse that has been working well in recent weeks. We’ll be looking to start him back in a maiden hurdle in the next few weeks. He seems to have plenty of pace and probably won’t need to go any further than two-and-a-half miles for the time being. He’s an exciting horse."
