Stable Tour Quotes
Gordon Elliott (11 February 2026): "Last year she wasn’t right after Punchestown. We discovered an issue after the race and rectified it. She was beaten after a hurdle in the Champion Hurdle last year and I would put a line through it. We might do something different this year, maybe stable her somewhere different outside Cheltenham or something. It is an open Champion Hurdle, but it’s a good race. The New Lion is very good; Golden Ace keeps going underneath the radar and all eyes will be on Constitution Hill to see whether he goes back over hurdles."
Gordon Elliott (19 January 2026): "We were thrilled with her comeback run at Leopardstown and she is on track for the Irish Champion Hurdle at the Dublin Racing Festival. She had been ready to run in a novice chase at Down Royal, but as was well publicised she pulled a muscle and must have missed nearly three weeks of work. Considering that, she was sure to improve on whatever she did at Leopardstown and she looks to have improved since then. Whether she’s good enough to beat Lossiemouth, I’m not saying that at all as Lossiemouth is very good, but she has improved and we are very happy with her."
Gordon Elliott (23 October 2025): "We’ve been really happy with her since she came back in. She’s actually working after racing at Navan on Wednesday, so that should be a good step up in her preparation. Her schooling over fences has been really good and she’s always looked one that would love chasing. She’ll start off at either Down Royal or Navan I’d imagine. Trip-wise, we might start her off at a middle distance, but to be honest, I think she’d be grand over any trip. We’ll get her started and work from there."
Gordon Elliott (22 October 2024): "We strongly considered sending her novice chasing, but the decision is made, and she’ll stay hurdling. She’ll start back in the Jezki Hurdle at Down Royal on November 1st. She looks to be an obvious candidate for the Mares’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival in the longer term. We’ve never hidden how highly we regard her, and we can’t wait to get her back on the track. We think the world of her."
Gordon Elliott (09 April 2024): "We’re going to run her in the Mersey Novices’ Hurdle over two-and-a-half miles on Saturday. We were disappointed to see her beaten in the Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival. It was a mess of a race, Jack and Paul were riding to beat each other and let the winner get away on them. It was a mess. The longer trip is going to suit her well and hopefully she can get back on track. We’ve made no secret of the regard we hold her in."
Gordon Elliott (26 February 2024): "We think she’s very good. Shane McCann, who is as good a judge as we have here, rides her every day and he thinks she’s as good as anything we’ve ever had here. That would include Don Cossack, everything. I wouldn’t have any worries about coming back in trip with her for the Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle. She must have a really good chance. She’ll be one to go chasing with next season I’d imagine."
Gordon Elliott (16 November 2023): "She looks very good. Really, the Grade 3 at Down Royal was more like her first run over hurdles as the race at Thurles was more like a schooling session for her. I’m not 100% sure where I’m going with her next, but we are working backwards from the Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival with her. She’s an exciting mare and we are really looking forward to seeing more of her. She’s a proper mare, she looks the real thing."
