Joe Tizzard Stable Tour

Form profile

Winner of six of his 17 starts and currently rated 155 over fences. Winner of two of his three starts last season beating Fugitif a length and a half at Cheltenham (2m) in November off a mark of 140 and followed up with a 14-length success from Only Money at Newbury (2m½f) later that month. Not seen out since finishing fourth, beaten nine lengths, to Editeur Du Gite in the Grade 1 Clarence House Chase run at Cheltenham (2m½f) in January.

Trainer says

Amarillo Sky had a cracking time last season but got a bit jarred up in the rearranged Clarence House at Cheltenham and just tweaked a leg. He is back in full work and will have one run before the Cheltenham Festival. I might take him to something like the Game Spirit at Newbury and the he will go to Cheltenham. He will be entered in the Queen Mother and the Grand Annual and we will see where we are. He is rated 155 and it’s not easy either way but we will give him all the options.

Form profile

Finished sixth, beaten 11½ lengths, to Walks Like The Man in a bumper at Newton Abbot in October.

Trainer says

He is a lovely young horse who we think the world of and he ran well in his first bumper at Newton Abbot where he just got a bit tired. We are just looking after him this year and he will have a couple of more bumper runs before going novice hurdling next season.

Form profile

Finished sixth, beaten 10 lengths, to Goodtimecrew in a mares’ bumper at Wincanton in February.

Trainer says

She is about ready to run and has just had the one run in a bumper. She has had a couple of niggly issues and we will go straight hurdling with her. She is well bred and she will run in a novice hurdle soon. We might start her around Exeter over two miles but she will eventually get further in time.

Form profile

Winner of five of his 27 starts and currently rated 120. Finished third, beaten 11 lengths, to Your Darling in a handicap chase at Ascot (2m 5f) on Friday.

Trainer says

Copperhead ran well at Ascot on Friday and has dropped to a very workable mark now. He will win races in a minute and is running consistently and he seems to want a shorter trip as he has got older. He did stay three miles well in his younger days but two miles five seems to be his trip nowadays.

Form profile

Finished eighth, beaten 31 lengths, to East India Express in a novice hurdle at Kempton (2m 5f) in November.

Trainer says

He is a nice horse who is growing like mad on me at the moment. He was a bit disappointing at Kempton the other day but he is only a four-year-old and just seems to be in a growing phase. We will take it easy with him this season and if he wins, he wins. I would love to keep him as a novice as a five-year-old to be honest with you.

Form profile

Scored by 13 lengths from Globe Player in a bumper at Warwick in March and finished runner-up, beaten eight and a half lengths, to Insurrection in a novices’ hurdle at Exeter (2m½f) this month.

Trainer says

He is probably my nicest novice hurdler and ran well against a nice horse at Exeter the other day that was two-years-older than him and had a lot more experience. He jumped a bit novicey but he has sharpened up for the run. He is a winner waiting to happen and he might go to Plumpton on December 4 and try and get his head in front.

Form profile

Winner of five of his 27 starts and currently rated 153 over fences. Finished third, beaten seven lengths, to Victtorino in a handicap chase at Ascot (3m) at the start of the month off a mark of 154.

Trainer says

He has been brilliant over the year and ran a blinder on his comeback at Ascot which would be the wrong way round for him. He is in the Coral Gold Cup and he will love the drying ground at Newbury this week. He is an older horse and you often get a younger horse that is coming through but the handicapper has given him a chance and he seems in really good nick. I think he will run a really good race.

Form profile

Winner of eight of his 24 starts and currently rated 151 over fences. Scored by three and a quarter lengths from Solo in the Grade 2 Haldon Gold Cup at Exeter (2m1½f) this month off a mark of 146.

Trainer says

He won the Haldon Gold Cup for us so he is a Grade 2 winner this season. That was his Gold Cup and we had purposely given him a run three weeks before as he always needs a run. We are going to take him to Newbury on Saturday and he loves dominating in small fields. His handicap mark has shot up and it’s not easy for him but he has bagged a Grade 2 this season and owes us nothing.

Form profile

Winner of three of his 16 starts and currently rated 122 over hurdles. Has finished runner-up in both his handicap hurdles this season most notably when beaten only a length and three quarters to Springwell Bay at Cheltenham (2m 5f) this month off his current mark.

Trainer says

He has run two lovely races this season and finished second twice. He was second at Cheltenham last week and the winner is highly thought of. I think we will try and get him qualified for a Pertemps but he needs to go up to get into a Pertemps. We will leave him hurdling for now and we are having a lot of fun with him. It shouldn’t be too long before he is getting his head in front.

Form profile

Winner of three of her 10 starts and currently rated 124 over hurdles. Pulled up before the last on her reappearance in a mares’ handicap hurdle at Wincanton (2m5½f) this month off a mark of 125.

Trainer says

She was disappointing at Wincanton on her reappearance. She travelled well and stopped quickly for no real reason. We are going to take her down to Plumpton on December 4 for another mares’ race and it could be that she does everything so easily on our gallops that she just needed the run. She is a lovely mare and it just wasn’t her day last time.

Form profile

Winner of four of his 22 starts and currently rated 124 over fences. Has won twice and not of the first three in nine starts this season. Has finished runner-up in his last three and beaten only half a length by Take Your Time in a novices’ handicap chase at Newton Abbot (3m 2f) in October off a mark of 122.

Trainer says

A wind operation has transformed him this Summer and he has been ultra consistent. He runs on Sunday at Exeter and we will, perhaps have a go in some of these long distance races with him but he been on the go for some time and once he puts in a bad run we will probably draw stumps.

Form profile

Winner of four of his nine starts and currently rated 145 over fences. Made a winning debut over fences in a novices’ handicap chase at Newton Abbot (2m½f) in October when beating Monviel two lengths off a mark of 130 and looked all set to follow up in a Grade 2 Novices’ Chase at Cheltenham (2m) this month until stumbling and unseating his rider after the last.

Trainer says

He is a gorgeous chap and he was so unlucky not to win a Grade 2 at Cheltenham last weekend. The handicapper thought that was a serious performance and put him up 11lb. I see no reason not to run him in the Henry VIII and he has come out of the Cheltenham race fine. He jumped brilliantly and we will have a go at the Henry VIII.

Form profile

Winner of four of his 16 starts and currently rated 131 over fences. Finished fifth, beaten 11 lengths, to Credo in a handicap chase at Wincanton (3m 2½f) in October off a mark of 132.

Trainer says

He ran a blinder in the Topham last year when finishing third and we are going aim there again. He is a nice horse in the Spring and he will bounce off ground and he is going to Newbury either Friday or Saturday. It should be decent ground with no rain forecast and we are looking forward to running him but we are really working back from the Topham again.

Form profile

Winner of eight of his 36 starts and currently rated 135 over fences, Returned to winning form in a Veterans’ Handicap Chase at Kempton (2m4½f) this month when by scoring seven and a half lengths from Danny Kirwan off a mark of 130.

Trainer says

He is a lovely veteran and he won three for me from the turn of the year. He won the first of the two mile four veterans’ races and I have him in at Newbury but we may end up taking him to Cheltenham for the next two and a half mile veterans’ race. It is £100,000 for the Veterans’ Final at Haydock and that is the target.

Form profile

No wins from three starts. Finished runner-up, beaten five and a half lengths, to Il Pino in a novices’ hurdle at Wincanton (2m 5 ½f) on Thursday.

Trainer says

I threw him in at the deep-end in the Persian War but he ran a much better race at Wincanton on Thursday. I think he is a chaser in the making but we will try and stay novice hurdling this season. He is a winner of a novice hurdle in the waiting but he will be a much better chaser.

Form profile

Winner of one of his seven starts and currently rated 120. Finished 11th, beaten 19 ½ lengths, to American Sniper in a conditional jockeys’ handicap hurdle at Cheltenham (2m 5f) this month off his current mark.

Trainer says

He is a nice horse who needed the run at Cheltenham the other day. He came good at the end of last Spring and he will go novice handicap chasing now. I think he is well handicapped off 120 and he has had his run now. He will be ready to run in a novices’ handicap chase in a couple of weeks’ time.

Form profile

Winner of one of his four starts for Thomas Mullins and currently rated 126 over hurdles.

Trainer says

He is a nice horse we bought privately and he is novice all season so we are in no rush with him. I might run him in novice hurdle at Cheltenham on December 15. I am hoping on what he is showing us that he is a Cheltenham horse. He has run in the Triumph and I am hoping he can run in one of the handicaps or a novice at the Festival.

Form profile

Winner of six of her 17 starts and currently rated 130 over fences and 124 over hurdles. Made a winning reappearance in a handicap hurdle at Newton Abbot (3m2½f) in October when scoring by a neck from Whitehotchilifil off a mark of 123. Finished seventh, beaten 23 lengths, to Malina Girl in a handicap chase at Cheltenham (3m3½f) this month off his current mark.

Trainer says

Good old Rose - she has come good for us and won four in the last 12 months. I chucked her in right at the deepened at Cheltenham this month and she just got a bit tired and that is probably her limit. We will try her in some of those listed mares’ chases and she might be able to nick a bit of black type doing that.

Form profile

Winner of two of his 14 starts and currently rated 123 over fences. Finished third, beaten 12 lengths, to Tritonic in a novices’ handicap chase at Wincanton (2m) on Thursday.

Trainer says

He didn’t jump great in his first race at Ascot but jumped a lot better at Wincanton on Thursday. He wants two and a half but we just wanted to give him a sharpener over two miles at Wincanton. We will run him over two and a half over Christmas and he won’t be long before he gets his head in front.

Form profile

Fell when holding second place when falling at the last in a point-to-point in Ireland in February.

Trainer says

He is ready to run and I had him in but he got a bruised foot. He is a horse we bought privately and he fell in his point-to-point but the form is working out very strong and he does everything nice at home. I think he is a nice horse and he will be running in a novice hurdle in the next fortnight.

Form profile

Winner of three of his 17 starts and currently rated 147 over fences. Finished fifth, beaten 22 lengths, to Blackjack Magic in the Badger Beer Handicap Chase at Wincanton (3m 1f) this month off a mark of 149.

Trainer says

He is going to go up for the Becher Chase in a fortnight’s time. He had a nice comeback run in the Badger Beer at Wincanton but Brendan (Powell) probably made a little too much use of him. If he takes to the fences we will work back from the Grand National. He was unlucky in it last year where he got knocked over at the second but the plan is to go back there again.

Form profile

Winner of three of his 14 starts and currently rated 132 over fences. Finished runner-up, beaten a length and three quarters, to Stay Away Fay in a novices’ chase at Exeter (3m) in November.

Trainer says

As expected, he is a much better chaser than he was a hurdler and he was a decent enough hurdler. He ran an absolute blinder over fences at Exeter behind Stay Away Fay and I thought we had him beat before two out. There is a new race on the Friday at the Tingle Creek meeting at Sandown and he is going to go for that. I think he will make up into a Brown Advisory horse.

Form profile

Winner of four of his 17 starts and currently rated 136 over fences. Returned to winning form at Cheltenham (2m) this month when scoring by three quarter of a length from Calico off a mark of 130. Finished a respectable third, beaten three lengths, to Boothill in a handicap chase at Ascot (2m 1f) on Saturday.

Trainer says

He won at Cheltenham and ran another good race at Ascot on Saturday when third to Boothill. He is going up through the ranks and we were taking a bit of a punt running him eight days after Cheltenham but it was a £120,000 race. I would have preferred if it had been a bit softer and we will look for similar opportunities for him.

Form profile

Winner of six of his 24 starts and currently rated 144 over fences. Finished third, beaten three and three quarter lengths, to stablemate Elixir De Nutz in the Grade 2 Haldon Gold Cup Handicap Chase at Exeter (2m 1½f) this month off a mark of 145.

Trainer says

He had a wind operation through the Summer and he ran a blinder and finished third in the Haldon Gold Cup. It is the first time we have seen him finish his race off for a while and he is entered at Newbury on Friday and at Aintree the following weekend. We will just pick our way with him but it looked to me like he is coming back and getting ready to win again.

Form profile

Winner of two of his five starts and currently rated 110 over hurdles. Winner of both his starts this term scoring by 10 lengths from Amelia’s Dance in a conditional jockeys’ handicap hurdle at Wincanton (1m 7f) in October off a mark off 99 and following up unpenalised in a handicap hurdle at Plumpton (2m) this month.

Trainer says

He is two from two this year and we chucked him in quick as he won a boys’ race first time and had to win off his mark. I think he is a lovely progressive young horse who should go in and win again and will be ready to run in a fortnight’s time.

Form profile

Winner of one of his five starts and currently rated 115 over hurdles. Finished sixth, beaten nine and three quarter lengths, to Forever William in a handicap hurdle at Plumpton (2m 4½f) this month off his current mark.

Trainer says

I threw him in deep on his first race back but I am going to go chasing with him. I think he is well handicapped.

Form profile

Finished runner-up, beaten a length and a quarter, to Country Lady in a bumper at Plumpton in April.

Trainer says

He is a lovely horse and finished third in his bumper at Plumpton in April. He just pulled a muscle and we will run him in a couple of bumpers and leave him as a novice for next year. He is just growing and he is a smart horse for next year.
