Charlie Longsdon Stable Tour

With many of the old guard retiring, Charlie Longsdon's team has had a healthy injection of fresh blood, and with many firing from the get-go is looking forward to an industrious spring.

With the likes of Pendra and Killala Quay now retired, Charlie Longdson pragmatically admits that his Hull Farm Stables is going through “a period of transition” but the Chipping Norton trainer is also alive to the fact that he has some handy raw materials at his disposal.

Longsdon has already notched 23 winners this season and has every chance of bettering his 2018-19 total of 36 and two of his main hopes appear to be Almazhar Garde and Western Miller.

Almazhar Garde is a brother to sadly lost Hammersly Lake and showed his is progressing nicely when winning a handicap chase at Ludlow last week and Western Miller made a welcome return to winning form at Doncaster recently when beating Croco Bay and earning himself a possible tilt at the Grand Annual at Chelteham.

Charlie said: “A lot of the stalwarts have retired but it will come right for us and it is just going to take time. We have some nice prospects in the Hull Farm Stable and hopefully they have bright future."

Longsdon kindly gave Tony Elves of ATR the lowdown on those he hopes can emerge in the coming months and beyond.
