Paul Nicholls (12 October 2026): "We have always thought the world about him, but he has been an immature horse and that still told in his novice chase season. I hoped he would turn out to be a Graded horse in a handicap when we took him to the novice handicap at the Festival but the extended two and a half mile trip wasn’t far enough for him. We stuck to our plan to go for the Grade 1 Mildmay and he ran a cracker to finish second to ill-fated Gold Dancer. He’s had a wind op over the summer and, hopefully, we will see the more finished article this season with the Coral Gold Cup his first big objective. I still have every confidence he will develop into a top-class chaser."

Paul Nicholls (08 April 2026): "He is in the Mildmay on Friday and stepping up in trip to three miles - we always thought that could unlock a bit more improvement. He ran well at Aintree last year when beaten only half a length but a very good horse in Honest Policy in the Mersey Novices’ Hurdle and he’s in great order at home. He’s much more settled and relaxed as he gets more mature with each run. Fingers crossed, he can get settled with Harry (Cobden) on board and is probably one of our best chances of the weekend."

Paul Nicholls (25 February 2026): "Regent’s Stroll will run in the Jack Richards and is the same type of horse as Caldwell Potter really. He has improved and he is 145 and almost nearly won a Grade 1 last year. He is a similar sort of horse, and we didn’t want to run him after Cheltenham as we didn’t want to get any rise in the weights. He is getting mentally much better and he worked great last week. He wouldn’t be without a chance if it wasn’t too soft."
